Klinger joins Khulna Titans for BPL 5

Australia opening batsman Michael Klinger has joined Khulna Titans for the BPL T20 5 tournament and started training with the team at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Friday. The right-handed top-order batsman arrived Tuesday and batted for quite a long time in the nets.

 

Klinger started his international career for Australia with the T20I series against Sri Lanka in February this year following his long first-class and club-cricket career. In his three T20Is for the national team, he scored 143 runs with a strike rate of above 100. He played 149 T20s for different clubs around the world and scored 4,649 runs with a strike rate of 127.61 and average of 38.1.

 

Klinger has played T20 cricket for teams like Worcestershire, Adelaide Strikers, Perth Scorchers, Gloucestershire and Kochi Tuskers Kerala. The fifth edition of the BPL is all set to start Saturday with the opening match between Sylhet Sixers and holder Dhaka Dynamites. Khulna will play their first match, against Dhaka Sunday evening.
